Step into a powerful story of courage, truth, and imagination as South Lakes High School Theatre Arts' critically-acclaimed production of A Monster Calls was visually striking and emotionally charged. Based on the novel by Patrick Ness, the company innovatively told the story of a young boy named Conor who is visited by a mysterious yew-tree “monster”. The Monster figure tells Conor of tales meant to both challenge his perspective but also ultimately heal him. A Monster Calls showcased some of the program's very best talent. With creative technical elements and emotionally raw performances, the company had two weekends of impactful performances.
9 to 5
April 30th - May 2nd
9 to 5, the musical, is based on the 1980 comedy of the same name. Like the hit film, the musical is a true revenge comedy. At its core though, it addresses important topics and themes, primarily the rampant gender inequality and sexual harassment in th workplace. Filled with late 70s flare, high energy choreography, and memorable performances, South Lakes Theatre Arts brought the show to life.
